currently: perusing old notes and letters here…
This memo for William McKeen by Hunter S. Thompson is one of my favorites so far. I like the way Thompson expresses himself. I’ve been acquiring an affinity for words like scum, and crummy lately.

playing catch up in instagrams… (my new go-to filter of the moment, Nashville)
…I’m on a strict no shopping diet, but, sigh, was distracted and fairly tempted by this chartreuse Kate Spade bag. I didn’t give in though.
…Dad’s harvest of sweet oranges and grapefruits. There”s so much more left for picking, so if you want a basket, let me know!
…taking some time off from building websites and photoshopping to relax on the couch with Maggie and getting my movie fix for the week. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spie was sooo goood. It’s a bit of a slow movie if you’re expecting some action spy flick, but how can you resist a cast of British actors? I also finally saw Scream 4, which has been my guilty pleasure for the last few months. It was actually a very good slasher flick. I might have underestimated Julia Robert’s niece.
…two favorite shots from my stroll downtown after I finally gave in and made myself drive down there to renew my car sticker. I found this courtyard a block down from the courthouse. It’s actually part of a church which has contemporary architecture features.
…nothing beats the comfort of my own bed sheets, and sleeping in through a thunderstorm, which has been occurred twice this week!

cheers!

…going to the arboretum today for a photo shoot.
I scoped the place out yesterday, looks good.
Hope it doesn’t rain on us!

Sometimes, the only pick-me-up I need is a little retail therapy in cosmetics. I’m ready for fall with these lipsticks shades.
The scarf is a little splurge, but I really love the bohemian print and the softness of it. Also, you can never go wrong with a soft pashmina for those amazing fall breezes.
Got a duplicate geisha Hello Kitty in my box. I was hoping for British Kitty, but these actually look cute together.
New books to browse through during late night reading sessions. (A birthday gift…thanks bro)
…I can hear the wind blowing at night now. I hope this summer heat wave is dissipating for good soon.

I just love a great widow display. The first BHDN store to open is located conveniently next to Anthropologie. Everything is so gorgeous in the store, especially all the decor and party supplies. It’s definitely inspiring me to throw a party.

I’ve been really into these paper garlands that have been hung at the Anthropologie stores lately. So simple, yet so beautiful as a collective piece.

…antler…for when my back itches…or for hanging delicate necklaces that are always strewn about all over my room
… those golden owl salt shakers from Uncommon Objects were just calling out to me. They’re heavy too, so they’ll make pretty paperweights or bookends. double the hoot!
…something for Tuan. A serigraph by Teresa Farr from here. I know it’s so kitschy, but it reminds me of this mural at Canyon Creek cafe that we love so much and the cats are supposed to resemble Charlie, Maggie and Joey.
