The “Crepe” Escape

This week will be dedicated to making these handcrafted crepe paper flowers. Martha Stewart templates never fail me. Two dozen down, and only about a hundred more flowers and strings of paper pom-poms left. Whoo-hoo! Procrastination leads to pressure which then leads to all nighters. But I’ve always worked well under last minute pressures.

Got these cheese domes at the thrift store along with a heavy brass candlestick that I’m debating on whether to repaint or not. I’m quite fond of the wood grains. These will look extremely cute on the dessert table.

peonies and gardenias

So after fawning over a headband from Anthropologie for some time now, I decided to make my own. I mean, really, $30 for a headband is just ridiculous! It turned out to be so simple and really fun to make. I used some Chanel pink-colored felt, a peony flower template from the craft queen, Martha Stewart, and a leather headband I’d had lying around for some time now. The brown headband and the turquoise from the aquamarine bead really work well together. Although now it looks like a giant gardenia instead, but  I’m so happy with the outcome!
