home sweet home

The sun is making all the plants wither in the scorching heat, but we managed to pick these potatoes before it was too late.

Dad’s pepper plants. Once they ripen to red, they’ll be spicy enough to be picked for daily meals. I love spicy but I was never able to manage the heat as well as my family did, who all preferred to take a bite out of a piece of pepper with their meals.

The dogs usually go outside everyday day to get their business down, but it’s a rare treat when I let the cats outside to play. (yes, I’m overprotected mother-hen) Maggie is on a new high today.

one fine day

*

A thunderous storm woke me up around 4AM this morning and all I could think about was whether the rain would burn my skin from the recent nuclear explosion in Japan. Silly. Well, the weather cleared up beautifully by the time I came home from work so I immediately took the opportunity to finally take Mikey out for a ride through the neighborhood. I had my iPhone in hand for some spontaneous photo shoots and Maggie in the basket. Well, she decided to jump ship at the very last moment, but enjoyed her brief stay in the basket for a time.

snowed in!

Well, not really. This is Houston after all. But the temperature is below the sanity level for Houstonians, so grab your cats and hug ‘em tight! burrrr. I told Maggie, it’s cold outside and she responded in subtitles before my very eyes, “I’m pretty hairy, so I think I’ll be ok.” Good luck humans.

all good things…

I’ve finally joined the Crocs bandwagon and I’m thoroughly basking in the comfort of it.  These baby pink ones are tempting me to pull a Miranda July and write “YOU” and “ME” on them.

Good morning Maggie!

sweet, sweet little dome to add to my collection

Hot, hot, hot egg drop soup and a warm throw is everything I need to enjoy a good action flick on the couch after finally getting all my Christmas shopping done today.
