A gooood Saturday well spent through the vintage shops. Some neat finds, all under $20.

You can’t tell but this Cheshire cat ring is almost the size of a belt buckle. I love love love it! It reminds me of my fat cat Maggie. And another owl ring for the collection. I like the art deco-ness of this design. (I don’t know why I opted for the Georgi O’Keefe theme for the photo. Guess I just had a poppy lying around. No vagina subliminal messages here.)

I’ve been pretty sad ever since my wallet was stolen awhile back. Shopping for the right wallet is hard. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I was so stoked when I found this vintage Coach wallet. I love its simplicity and logo-free exterior. There was even a cuteย  little informational booklet to thumb through.

An early birthday card from Anthropologie. Made me smile. They just want me to spend more moneys. how rude. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I will, though. It’s kind of like crack.

Recycled Spanish glass amber jar. sweeeet. Snagged two of them for my sister’s new house. I might take them back one day though. ๐Ÿ™‚

Saturday night’s alright

It was White Linen Night in the Heights yesterday. Everyone came in their best whites to check out Houston’s vintage scene on 19th Street. I wish I could have stayed a little longer, but I had birthday dinner reservations with the sis and her beau, and free Italian dinner is so tempting. ๐Ÿ™‚ Those shiny, rainbow pinata and streamers blowing in the wind by Casa Ramirez had me mesmerized for awhile there.

Chomp chomp. All you can eat at Maggiano’s.ย  I think we finished four of these creme brulee plates. It was brutal.

Yay! My snail mail has finally arrived! Let’s see, a few new ones, (The Double Life of Veronique, Fanny & Alexander, Kagemusha, and 3 Films by Louis Malle) and some old favorites. It’s a bit much I know, but I think it’s about time I finally owned a legit version of these movies. The Royal Tenenbaums were getting quite lonely on that shelf by itself.

I’ve been hanging aroundย  the Heights area lately checking out the vintage and resale shops. Found some places I haven’t been to and discovered some older ones had moved on. Some snippets of things I like. Will post more later.

These hand carved mesquite stools were dazzling in the sun. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Except they were too over priced for me so I left them sun bathing on the concrete.

The lady in pink beckons.

The cat and the Curmudgeon. I had this book when I was young., exact cover and all. I still don’t know what a curmudgeon is. Isn’t that trio of cats tin box the best?
