Autumn is finally here! Or so it’s finally beginning to look like Autumn in Houston. I hosted a Thanksgiving dinner with friends again this year. Last year, we decided to take a break and dine out, but somehow the idea of not cooking on Thanksgiving didn’t sit too well with me this year. It’s always a lot of work to put together a large party, but I really enjoys cooking and having everyone over to […]
I’ve always wanted to learn how to make French macarons and yesterday, I was finally able to sign up for a cooking class to learn how to make these delicate desserts. Of course, you can always learn how to make anything through the internet these days, but I’ve always been a visual and hands on learner and taking this class was really fun and helpful. Our cooking team created a cassis macaron with blueberry cream, […]
Happy Father’s day! Hope everyone had a wonderful time spending it with your family. My weekend was spent hanging out with my family and stuffing our faces with so much delicious food at our aunt’s house to celebrate both Father’s day and also my Aunt’s big 70th birthday. Of course it wouldn’t be a Phamily party without my dad’s famous curry. The chicken curry has become somewhat of a great staple in our diets, especially […]
For my sister’s birthday this year we enjoyed our two favorite things together, shopping and cooking. After a day of shopping, I signed us both up for a cooking class creating a four course dinner inspired by Jaime Oliver’s recipes. I haven’t been a big fan of lamb ever since I had a bad tasting at a restaurant recently, but the lamb chops we learned to cook were so delicious, I might just have to […]
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you are all spending these few days with your loved ones and eating delicious foods like giants. I know I am for sure. My family has been hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the past two years, with all my uncles and aunts, and cousins coming over to our house. It’s usually myself and my brother and sister who cooks the American fare of turkey and side dishes and my parents making a few […]
I caught the baking flu these past two days. It started off with a simple go-to pate chaud recipe and then I started craving some spicy edamame. A quick trip to the grocery store had me loading up on some raspberry tea and fresh strawberries and o h m y g a w d … It just snowballed into so much deliciousness… Ended my Parks & Recreation marathon with some waffles al la Leslie Nope […]
Sometimes all you need a a bit of salt. Nothing too fancy. The roasted pumpkin seeds and pecans make great snacks and the salted fish will be delicious for lunch with rice tomorrow!
