On Sunday, we woke up very early and made our way to the Chinati Foundation in hopes of experiencing a few of the exhibits during sunrise. And as the sun rose through the fields, I saw more and more people making the same trek, dark figures moving in formation along the gravel pathway towards the hangars, where aluminum blocks awaited us. Donald Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum is a collection of these rectangular […]

Places / Travel / weekends

I finally made that trip to Marfa. It’s been on my bucket list for some time now and when it was announced that Solange would be performing Scales during the Chinati Weekend this year, I really couldn’t hold off on this trip any longer. So my friend, AJ and I, made that ten hour drive to West Texas and found ourselves immersed into a quick but amazing weekend of art, music, and Instagram memories. We […]

I took my niece and nephew to the Bayou Bend Gardens for a quick photo session during my Spring Break. I was hoping to catch the pink magnolias in full bloom, but unfortunately, missed it by a week. You have […]

Life / weekends

As a photo blogger, photo files are so important to me, so when my hard drive crashed on me last November, I had a pretty bad meltdown over potential lost files and memories that I had deemed lost forever. Fortunately, my brother was able to recover the majority of the files on my hard drive and life is a little bit more sane again. 🙂 So the next few posts will be catching up from […]

weekends

My sister and I took a little break from the dropping temperatures in Houston to celebrate another one of my old friend’s wedding in Miami last weekend. This was my first time in Florida and I have to say, the weather here during the winter season suited me just fine as there was no humidity and a constant breeze kept flowing through town. We stayed in a historic cottage in Little Havana where it was […]

Life / weekends

Images from a weekend with friends and family. One of my oldest and closest friend got married and we all spent the weekend pampering ourselves, having good food and wine with old friends and enjoying a little girl time with hair and make up for her big day. I think I really needed that time off. I even had some time to to Galveston to walk down the beach at night and catch up with […]

Parties / weekends

The house cat mimosas for breakfast This past weekend, I co-hosted a bachelorette weekend getaway in Austin with the bride’s sister and matron of honor.  We rented this amazing house in the SoCo district and spent the weekend lounging in the pool and taking our time to enjoy good food and company with each other. A couple of highlights included paddle boarding for the first time on the lake, experiencing 6th Street since my college days, […]
