Summerfest, Saturday

audio / recollections

The music was so loud, it vibrated your ears. I looked down the hill, into the little valley and saw everyone’s head light up so that it reminded me of a microscopic image of sorts. Explosions in the Sky played on and I tried hard not to look at every single person in the crowd that wasn’t already mesmerized by the music. I looked up into the dimming sky. I saw the kids skateboarding in the playground across the bayou. I saw the lights turning off in one of the windows in a building towards Waugh Street, and I wondered if someone had opened a window from one of those buildings at that very moment, would they hear this too.

Explosions in the Sky Our Last Days as Children

Broken Social Scene Ibi Dreams of Pavement (A Better Half)

I swear I had chills when Kevin Drew sang this song. It sounds a lot better live, I think.
