Watching this awesome scene several times over. Michael Scott is such an endearing character. “Wiiiiiilma!” gets me everytime.
downtown session

The Weeknd – The Morning
Enjoying the Weeknd. Pun intended. I’ve spent the last two days being with the Phamily and eating nothing but crawfish all weekend. Saturday, some friends and I took some time off to walk around downtown and have a little photo session. We grabbed some delicious crepes at Coco’s and then walked around the theater district and I finally visited the bayou, which is surprisingly not as horrible as I thought it would be. The wall that stretches down the bayou has ivy climbing all over it, making for some good photo-ops. Whenever I see ivy I’m always inclined to recreate this favorite photo of mine. This is Pei doing her best Pamona stance. The sticky humidity of summer is slowing creeping into town, and I think it’s going to be another hot one this year. I hope the cool breeze stays longer though.

Mr. and Mrs. Fox

I’m coming down with a bad cough. And I’ve always been a little immature about taking medicine, so I’ve been trying all sorts of home remedies like eating slices of lemon with honey, and even resorting to some organic honey syrup my dad bought. Well it feels a little better. I hate being sick when it’s not cold outside. A few things have been making my stay at home worthwhile, though, like catching up on all The Office seasons , listening to the new Fleet Foxes album and sleeping in. I’ve been very excited for Fleet Foxes‘ sophomore release and it’s even better than I expected. Speaking of foxes, I forgot to show you the letterpress print I got for my sister.
Fleet Foxes – Montezuma
trifecta

Three very good things:
The Chocolate Store blackberry and raspberry cup display
Guild Shop tea set…with cup lids!! I swooned
A vintage mid-century chair for a reupholstering project…the seat cushion lifts up to reveal a secret storing compartment! It’s like finding pockets in a dress you’re about to buy, always a deal-breaker.

un fête a la musee…

…well I think that’s how you say it in French.
I met up with some friends at the MFAH yesterday evening for a French Fête! event. There were promises of champagne and great art so who could say no? I should know better, but I still always get surprised when so many people actually turn up to these events. There was a line that stretched around the corner of the museum building! Standing in line is never fun. I’ll have to come back on a Thursday to view the paintings in a more quiet setting, although these events are always a good excuse to dress up and go out. These shot were taken on the sly so they’re a bit blurry. I also picked up what I thought was a button of a painting I really liked, but it turned out to be a little travel mirror. Oh well, I can remedy that situation with a little super glue and pin. It accents my chartreuse cardigan so well.
