It’s persimmon season! At family gatherings, we trade in the usual mangos for crunchy persimmons to snack on after meals. ( By the way, My iphone is making this photo absurdly Oompa-Loompa orange). Did you know there are two main types of persimmons? Soft and crunchy. The softer ones are more red in color and has larger seeds. I prefer the crunchy ones for aesthetic reasons and also because it’s just damn tastier. There’s a house on the corner of the street where the neighborhood ends, and there is a large persimmon tree growing over the fence. I always see those delectable orange fruits growing in abundance on that tree when I drive to work. It’s just so tempting not to reach over and grab a few.
