We took our friends Thomas and Pei to Empire Cafe, one of our favorite spots in Montrose today. They live only a few minutes from the the Montrose area but have yet to explore all the cafes and restaurants around that neighborhood. I’ve been craving some Italian soda lately anyway and Empire makes some p r e t t y good hazelnut flavored cream sodas.  If you’re in the neighborhood you should definitely stop by […]

My current addiction: fresh juices from Central Market. It’s getting too stifling hot outside, but there’s nothing like a delicious, cold orange + carrot juice to cool me down, especially after running/walking  three miles at the park. There is really no right way to make crawfish, I’ve had them so many ways, but the important thing to always keep in mind when making your crawfish people: heat. Anyway, we had a couple of our […]

A lot of people were fawning over those delicious macarons at the bridal shower, but gasped in outrage when they heard how expensive these little sweets were. I want to try to make these one day. Maybe invite the girls over an we can experiment with some baking. (Did I mention my cupcake baking skills were a disaster for the party? Yeah, that’s why there are no close ups shots of the cupcakes 🙂 Anyway, […]
