Originally, I planned on manzanita branches for the wish tree, but I found these sparkly branches on clearance at a sidewalk sale at the craft store and couldn’t pass up such a sweet deal. This makes good practice for the larger wish tree I’ll be making for the wedding reception. Advertisements
My favorite part of the party planning was making all the flower arrangements. I’m not much for having a perfect arrangement. I prefer the “I just picked it from my garden” look. Finally a great opportunity to put those vintage glasses and vases to good use. These She Says, He Says game cards were a fun collaboration with the bride and groom. Inspired by this. I love love these yellow acacia blooms. They really brighten […]
The last week has been a whirlwind of crafting and decorating and cooking and last minute details, but everything came together beautifully for my sister’s bridal shower this past Sunday. I threw her a garden tea party themed shower since she loves both so much . I started with a simple color palette of chartreuse, bright and pale pinks, pastel turquoise, and mustard, but I think it became an explosion of colors by the end, […]

Two dozen down, and only about a hundred more flowers and strings of paper pom-poms left. Whoo-hoo! Procrastination leads to pressure which then leads to all nighters. But I’ve always worked well under last minute pressures. Got these cheese domes at the thrift store along with a heavy brass candlestick that I’m debating on whether to repaint […]
I’m finally catching up to all my correspondence. I’ve been a big procrastinator for the past month, but the last few weeks have been keeping me on my toes. A last minute teaching opening has gotten me all in a frenzy of paper work and lesson planning and rubrics. I’ll be very excited if I manage to land this job, but at the same time, I won’t be devastated if not, because I know there’s […]
Sending out a birthday wish to my friend Rocio, who shares the same birthday with me tomorrow. Wow, it’s already been a year. Where has the time gone?
Making snail mail to send to some old friends. I forgot how studious and unwavering I can be when I get started on a project. It’s already 3AM now. My hand hurts, but I’m glad to be productive. I just love getting mail so hopefully, this will make someone smile!
